Thank you all for your comments!

Sareh, I would write more often if I knew what to write about. I feel like I have to wait for something "magical" to happen, for me to be "inspired" enough to write :D

You're right though! What's the use of a blog, if it doesn't reflect the blogger's life -- or thoughts, in a consistent manner?

Time management can have a lot to do with it. In my case however, blogging doesn't even have an entry in the TODO list!

Blogging (and writing in general) is a great habit -- and a sign of an aware and mature society. Because, as you said, it's provides a means for displaying and sharing the results of your experiences and thoughts.

Thanks to you, I will add this as one of the habits I need to get into ;)

Well hello love! First off (and this is long overdue!) congrats khanoom mohandes! I wish I'd been there to see you in those ridiculous robes!

Secondly... I hear you when you talk about time management! I think you should write more often (seriously) at least then you can look back and remember that you spent some of your day "thinking," if nothing else.

Also! I think my favorite part in this post was "not to take yourself too seriously." It's sad how so many people get caught up in this one little sentence, be it one extreme or the other. What I'm trying to say is that if, as you said, you don't have some goal (even if it is just "to be") then you'll fall into the same pit as someone who takes him/herself to seriously...

Well, that's enough out of me... this is, after all, YOUR blog! Happy 1389!! (:

Once again congratulations on the graduation. Wish you all the best for the new year. I hope I can get myself to read some of the links you had in there.

"The power of now" might also be a good read if you want to know more about focusing on the present. Randy's talk is of course invaluable. He will be a personal hero of mine forever.

A month and a half and counting! I really find your blog a pleasurable read Pardis... write more often.

On Canada - I'd love to hear your thoughts, with the Olympics going on in Vancouver as I write. It can be so frustrating, the indecision, the guilt inherent in feeling -at times- more proud of a country and culture you were merely schooled in. Keep writing.

Btw, congrats on AUT (I'm ashamed to say I had no idea!) I'm sure you're rocking their world.

MatGill and Monah, thank you so much for your comments!

Ahmad, you're right, there's a nice article here(http://www.cs.indiana.edu/how.2b/how.2b.research.html) that talks about this. Here's an excerpt,

"A good advisor will serve as a mentor as well as a source of technical assistance. A mentor should provide, or help you to find, the resources you need (financial, equipment, and psychological support); introduce you and promote your work to important people in your field; encourage your own interests, rather than promoting their own; be available to give you advice on the direction of your thesis and your career; and help you to find a job when you finish. They should help you to set and achieve long-term and short-term goals."
